Members can add multiple products to an existing Declaration at any time as long as no changes to the Bluetooth compliant portions of the product have been made. Products can be added to an existing Declaration at no cost, given that the design does not implement any withdrawn specification.
Product Name:
The Product Name should be the same as how the product is being sold, marketed, and packaged. The product name will need to include the company's trademark. Customs officials may compare the exact name that appears on the product packaging with the Product Name listed in the Bluetooth SIG database.
- If the same product has different names in different global regions, the member will also need to add the products to the database.
- If the Product Name changes in multiple places, they must all be added (e.g., product packaging vs. website vs. online retailer).
- If the product name is the same across different model numbers, this would be considered a product family where each differing model number represents a variant of the product. When adding these variants to the product list, the product name can be the same, but with different model numbers.
- Using placeholders and/or multiple product names in a product list entry is considered a violation and subject to enforcement actions. Each unique Product Name must be listed separately.
Model Number
If the Model Number is printed on the package, or product, or is visible to the consumer, the member must add all the model numbers to the Declaration exactly as is being displayed to the consumer. If the model number is not public to the consumer, the member can use any internal non-placeholder number/identifier. Placeholders and multiple model numbers in one product listing in a Declaration is considered a violation and might be subject to enforcement actions.
