How Do I View and Download a Legacy Specification in the Specification Workspace Tool?

Legacy specifications are those specifications that are still active but a more recent version of the specification is now available. Usage of the legacy specification is allowed but highly discouraged, as they often contain known specification errors, some of which will result in interoperability issues with other devices.

To locate a legacy specification in the Specification Workspace (SWS) tool, first access the homepage, then click the Archived Specs tab.

When opened, the Archived Specs tab will as a default display all archived specs. Click the Legacy tab to view all the legacy specifications.

In this example of results, the 3D Synchronization Profile 1.0.2 is designated as a legacy specification. To view the specification project details, click on the project name in blue.

For example:

  • Clicking on 3DSP 1.0.2 in the Project Name column opens the details on this project.3dsp1.png
  • Click on the terms in blue in the Download column to download the specification. In this case, we will download 3DSP 1.0.2.download_legacy.png
  • Click Specification to download the specification.
