The Specification I Am Working with Has a Known Future Deprecation Date. How Do I File an Erratum Against It?

When a specification reaches the end of its useful life, the Bluetooth© Special Interest Group (SIG) may choose either to deprecate or withdraw the specification. Deprecated specifications are no longer maintained by the Bluetooth SIG and are not updated with any further error corrections, clarifications, or feature enhancements. However, you may file an erratum against a specification, even if it has a known future deprecation date.

  1. To file an erratum against a specification with a known future deprecation date, log in to the Errata tool.Errata_Tool.png
  2. In the left-side navigation under Errata, click Create.    Create.png
  3. Using the dropdown menus, select the type and version that you wish to file an erratum against.New_Errata.png
  4. You will see a note that this version of the specification will be deprecated.Errata_Issue.png
  5. You may continue to file the erratum by clicking the Continue button, or you may cancel.
