When a company applies for membership, they agree to the membership agreements including the Bluetooth Trademark License Agreement. This allows a member company to use the Bluetooth Trademarks in relation to fully qualified and listed products. To use the Auracast™ Trademarks, it is also required that those products implement and meet the requirements for the Public Broadcast Source (PBS) role, the Public Broadcast Sinck (PBK) role, or the Public Broadcast Assistant (PBA) role as defined in the Public Broadcast Profile (PBP) Specification. More details about the requirements around using the Auracast™ Trademarks can be found in the Bluetooth Brand Guide, downloaded here.
A company planning on selling a Bluetooth enabled product under their own company/brand name must:
- be a member to be properly licensed to use the trademarks, word mark, or logos
- properly qualify and/or list their product(s) to comply with the Bluetooth Trademark License Agreement
- refer to the Bluetooth Brand Guide to learn more about the correct use of names and logos.
